Hi all,
thanks to this forum I bought a Trifecta Tuningset long years ago...
Now the car was involved in an accident and we bought a new one.
The new one as another VIN of course... So I mailed to Trfecta with no answer (as others know).
Can I use the setup for the new car? Is there any connection to the VIN?
The only I found about is a warranty quest, but its no more on the 8y old car :)

I found the VIN only in one of the files I got from Trifecta and due to the fact, they dont like to gain money with mailing new files, I think I change the VIN in the file if needed...

Welcome to the site, you can only try it and see, but I suspect theVIN is the key to opening the program.

 

We did it last weekend...
Finally it worked.
I just needed to change the VIN using a HEX editor.

For all ppl interested in "old" Trifecta tuning.
We did not kick out last Horse in 2011. It was mainly to get better speedup and better gear-switching.
If you like to install the Trifecta you need someone with the hardware, the HHR-setting files and the software and... a HEX editor to setup VIN.

Due to the setup we did 2011 it may be a better way to tune the motor today using an external system like Hypertech?
As I found in threads the plugs dont work :)

A lot of trouble but you got it working, awesome.

 

No trouble just some work on PC :)

My wife was happy with the HHR so we had to find a new one after the accident.
She was hit by a truck from behind at redlight...

Now we are happy with the better acceleration thanks to the Trifecta tuneup.
