235 tires on 8" rim

I know some folks are running them. What is the offset you are using? What is the backspacing you have? What combo does not rub without rolling the fender lip? I used search for 235 and came up blank, so I'm asking?

I've got 235/40-18 on 18x8 with 40 offset (stock is 42). The tire matches the OEM diameter.

As for clearance, the rear hit the top of the inner fender lip and I had to roll there. I'm also riding on gen 1 Gold-Line springs. It's hard to measure with rounded shoulders, but the new tire was about 1" wider tread width and hit on the shoulder. Newer HHRs have the lip modified some, which should help some.

Hope that helps!
