What do you guys think about installing an old time sounding horn. Found one on line pretty cheap but it appears to be big. I'm so stupid I can't find the horn in my HHR but I'm sure it is smaller. Think it would be difficult or ill advised?

Sounds like a good idea to me.First of all, and have fun modding your ride.As for the horn, you may have to install it somewhere other than the current horn's location.I have not looked for the location on mine, but space is tight in the engine compartment.I was thinking of replacing mine with some air horns that sound like a semi in case some idiot pulls out in front of me and then he will have to clean his shorts.

Service manual says the horn is behind the black plastic wheel well housing on the drivers side. I don't like the wimpy single horn and was thinking of at least adding a second to make it dual tone.

Be carfeul when ya hook it up. The way the HHR's system is set up it can fry an "aaaoooga" horn pretty quick. If you wanna do one I'd say hard wire it and install a button on the dash you can puch when you like.

oldschoolfreak put one in and fried it when trying to use it as his main horn. You may wanna PM him and ask what happened

The original horn is located behind the drivers head light.
We took the wheel off, the the wheel well cover.
The original horn was taken out and the aogha was put in thhat place.
my horn is about 12" long and is pointing down.
Works great and is very loud.
Oneton did the work for me a one our g2g's at Dans, in Fl.
I love it.
Mine is the only horn that I have, it is the main horn.
And I do use it!
