I just had a customer walk in who wanted a luggage carrier installed on his white HHR. When it gets here tomorrow I will post the instructions.

The kit will supply you with templates for placement, a drill bit, and the tool to crush the 'nutserts' (which I didn't use, have a better one). There are no square holes or special punches needed. The only thing I don't like is with the front mounts, the roof will sag when weight is placed. The roof should be reinforced to support my kayaks before I will use it.
Very easy DIY.

ChevyMgr,

You seem like a good person to ask...

How much is the roof rail kit from GM and does it come in finishes other than chrome?

And while I'm at it...

How much is the spoiler kit and the running boards kit?

Thanks.

Anyone looking for GM factory accessories should try their local dealers web sites for accessory ideas. About 4 years ago GM created ADIs. An ADI is where most of the dealers purchase their GM accessories now. The ADIs helped all dealers set up accessory web page links.

All dealers sell their parts and accessories at different prices for one reason or another. But you can at least get the part number by searching their web site accessory pages. No matter what the dealers web site looks like, the accessory pages are all the same set up for almost every GM dealer, the only difference is they add the dealers name to it and the pricing is different.

Now understand this, a lot of dealers have 2 web sites. One site they probably created many years ago, and then their is the new web sites that GM forced us to create this year. If you go to www.chevrolet.com and do a search in your zip code you will find the web site that GM made the dealers create in your local area. That's not the site you want!

Example: HHoRange07, you live in Pittsburg CA. When I go to chevrolet.com and searched dealers in your area this is the site it takes me to: http://www.winterchevrolet.net/HomePage This site does not have a link to Winter Chevrolets accessory page. It is the site that Chevrolet forced them to have and is mostly new car/truck sales related.

But if I go to www.winterchevrolet.com and then click the parts department tab there is an accessory link which is http://www.gmaccessories.net/winterchevrolet/index.aspx You do not need a login to use this site.
On this link I can put in year, make and model of any GM vehicle and find all the accessories available for that vehicle. It also gives you the GM part number for those accessories and then you can search or call other dealers or web sites for their pricing on the accessory you are interested in.

I am not brushing you off on getting these prices, but it's Saturday and I am not working today, at least not at the dealership. The wife has big plans for my body today, and I don't mean that in a good way.

So everyone should check any local dealers non-corporate web site, they will see the accessory link under the parts tab, and then view accessories available for any GM vehicle. They do list the price for the part only or the part and installation. Plus you get pictures of most of the accessories. Good luck, and if that doesn't help PM me and I will check it on Monday. Yes we get to work Memorial Day...

What would a perfect, but used set of these go for? Might be taking mine off and filling the holes left there. Mine are chrome and I don't have the luggage brackets.
