All Headlights on Mod?

Is there a mod we can do to turn all the lights on when you put the brights on? What I mean is when you put on the brights your headlights stay on and also your fog lights come on. So you would have all 3 on. I have this mod on my Sierra P.U. and it really gives you allot of light on dark roads.

Thanks,
Jack

to the site, Jack! Not sure on the light mod, try the search feature to see if anyone else has done it.

Our low and high beams are the same bulb and lamp so it would be impossible to have both on at the same time.

^what he said, the bulb would blow if both filiments were active, too much heat and pressure within such a small glass space.

Bump for this very old thread. I found it via search. Do we have any wiring gurus on the site that can answer this question? In all of my previous vehicles, there was a way to keep your fogs on with the brights. On one vehicle it was a wiring change, and on another you simply bent back a pin on an underhood relay.

In Ontario you can't have more than 4 lights on at a time. When the high beams go on the fog lights go off automatically since they count as 4.

I had a friend who got pulled over once for having too many lights on at the same time on his truck and he was fined. (Would have got only a warning if he didn't argue with the cop)

I admit it looks cool, but is it worth it if you get caught?

Most states have laws against this too.

I don't plan to run my brights with other people/cars around anyway, so yes, it's worth it. It was a very useful mod on my other vehicles when driving through the middle of nowhere. I'm not doing it because it looks cool, I'm doing it because it's functional and maybe it will cause the mod bug to abate temporarily.

Disclaimer: I am not an electrical expert!!!

I would think you could wire a relay into the fog lamp circuit connected to the power wire for the highbeams. So fog lamps would come on when you hit high beams and if you didn't want the fog lighta to always come on when the high beams are used, you could install a switch in the dash to control the foglamp/high beam usage.

Please read my signature slowly and carefully!
