I am about to purchase some OE take-off ebony seat covers from a 2008 HHR.

when my GF checked at work(GM parts dept), they did not list the 2006 seats as compatible with any 2007-2008 seats...as in the 2006 seat covers were not interchangeable.

However...she looked them up in EBONY.
from what I can find, EBONY was not available in 2006, only gray and cashmere.

can anyone confirm this?

I looked on GMPartsdirect.com
they dont list EBONY as avail for 06, but they do for 07-08.
they also dont show any exploded view of the seats for 06, but they do for 07-08, so I cannot compare the two...

I am looking for some help from anyone who might know if 08 seat covers will fit 06 seats.

I am purchasing them from another member here, so you would actually be hlping two of us out.

Correct, only gray & cashmere for 2006. Probably the only person that could confirm 100% that the 08 cover will fit the 06 seat would be one that works on the assembly line at the seat manufacturer(probably lear). I'd go for it, the seats sure don't look any different. You can always resell them on here if you find out they don't fit! That's a deal not worth passing up.

I AM doing it as we speak.
If for nothing else, to find out that they either DO or DONT fit.

I can promise you guys/gals this...as soon as I get them, and install them, I will be one of the few people who will KNOW for sure, either way.

I find this ALL the time with GM part numbers. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when they slide right on!

 

hope so. I looked at all kinds of photos of seats from 06, 07, and 08...they look the same...the power vs manual seat difference is in the side trim, not the fabric.

I am thrilled...I wanted ebony, but sacrificed and bought my 06 because the car was so darn clean...I do alot of mechanical work and tend to get greasy..., and I have been shopping and shopping for aftermarket covers...I am glad to find ebony.
I can box up my stock gray, and sit on them(pun intended) for...whatever reason...maybe one day I'll convince my GF to buy a HHR and it'll have worn gray seats, and I will have spares!

i hear ya about the gray cloth interior,i wanted the ebony, but a 07 left over for 5500 under sticker was a no brainer....im looking to do the same, recover my seats with some "take off" ebony ones...anyone else got any????? LOL

 

they will start popping up...as soon as these cars get older. Ebay becomes the wrecked-car bone yard...eventually, someone will begin to part these cars out...and more and more interiors will become available...can you say... Ebony Leather???
