Antenna Bezels

When your twenty feet away.....WOW!!! It looks great, but up close, it's more like "is that thing on?".
The chrome/chrome combo looks really good but if I can't get the bezel to sit right, I'll just color match the OEM base again. If it don't fit right, it ain't right.
I'm thinking they didn't plan for the mounting tape in the design.

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT THOUGH!
I was excited about ordering that piece, but now I don't know if I will...
wouldn't you think they would have made sure it fit over the entire bezel when creating it?!?!?

just wondering...
you know, I was just thinking, how thick is the adhesive on the inside of the bezel? I am wondering if it fit nicely like it does in the pic on the website, but then with the adhesive inside it sits higher off the original base?!? I am just searching for answers as to how this could fit the way it does!

sorry dude, I wasn't reading previous posts and I was just putting my thoughts down...
a couple of questions for you though...where did you get your stubby? my chrome stubby from socal looks a little different than the one in your pic...
also, when you screw the antenna in would it hold the bezel in place?
Is the mounting tape already inside of the unit when you receive it?
because I am thinking that if the bezel doesn't come off over the antenna maybe you could get buy without any mounting tape inside of it?
