Any interest in a Stainless Muffler Cover?

We have a manufacturer willing to design a stainless steel muffler plate for the HHR. The picture above shows one on a PT Cruiser (this was the prototype, the final version we are selling is nicer).

We need to gauge interest in the product and also need some input from the community, so please answer the poll so we can communicate interest to the manufacturer.

The input we need from forum members, with their vast HHR knowledge, is to answer a few questions:
  1. Are the stock mufflers for the 2.2 and 2.4 engines the same, 2006 and 2007, and 2008 if you know?
  2. What are the sizes of the exhaust pipe openings on the mufflers and optional exhaust tips, as supplied from the factory? Particularly, what is the largest diameter exhaust tip?
If we get a good response to the product we can probably have this in production within a few weeks.

Would it fit the Imco T 924, or only the orignial mufflers?

Most likely it would not fit an aftermarket exhaust. The aftermarket exhaust systems typically solve the ugly muffler problem.

I don't see the point when you could just but a stainless muffler.

is it just an end cap? If it does not seal all around, you could end up with a rusty muffler sooner than expected. just my .02

My next muffler if the Deer Slayer needs one should be fur covered.

Thanks for the observation, but based on the PT design shown, rust should not be an issue. The muffler plate sits a bit away from the stock muffler and a large glob of silicone sealer keeps if from rattling. There should be no moisture locked against the muffler and the weep hole will function as designed.
