Seriously considering doing the common grille modification on my 09 LS, and painting it the same color as the body. Has anyone ever used an aftermarket stock grille for the modification, and how will did it work?

I'm not sure what the difference is, but since I'm going to cut it up (or mess it up) I figure it was worth rolling the dice.

 

The satin chrome one would be my choice for repainting. The difference is, one is chrome, and the other is satin chrome.

I also noticed the cheaper one's emblem mounting looks different.
