To anyone who has added a rear spoiler

In the days of station wagons a rear spoiler above the back tailgate was to help keep the back end and glass cleaner. The thought was redirecting a constant air flow over that area would deter dirt for landing there. The HHR like all flat backed vehicle tends to get dirty on the rear way before the rest of the car. For those that have added that has it helped? Now I know many spoilers are for looks with no way of actually directing the air flow but some designs might be better than others. Thoughts?

Somewhere we discussed this before but I can't find the thread at the moment. Not many spoilers are going to keep your rear window clean.
