Angry Attn Fall Edition owners

I have a 2007 and I just noticed after washing my car today that the aluminum wheels are beginning to peel. Has anyone else had this problem? Can this be connected just to the black chrome? If so any luck going back to the dealer. Please respond. Thanks.

What do you use to clean and shine then up? Sounds to me like your using some sort of metal polish or something.

Someone else here had a problem with their black chrome but it was more of a color issue.

I just use the Meguiar's Deep Crystal car wash. The only thing that could have gotten on the wheels would be the Meguiar's Hot Shine that I put on the tires if it overran. But I would wipe that off asap.

I had a problem with one of the wheels beginning to peel. The lead weight they used to balance the wheel chipped the covering. I took it to the dealer and had them replace the wheel - of course they had to have it approved but it was done!!

Any chance you can post a close up shot of the wheel?

Maybe if you come to a meet some of use can get to gether and decide what route to take with the wheels. If they are that bad you have 2 options.
1. maybe the dealer will take care of it.
2. Strip them down, polish, and reclear them.

The second option can be done all with products from walmart or any auto parts store.

do the wheels have a clear coat on em. thats a question for every wheel. does chevy put a clear on the polished wheels and the black chrome from factory. or are they just polished and such?
