Question Black Mirror Caps Anyone???

Has anyone tried covering up the chrome with these? Was wondering if it covered up all the chrome or if there was still some visible. Going to start working on cutting back on all the chrome on Black Betty. Probably just going to leave door handles, scripts, rims and bowties back pallete.

Those are replacement mirror caps. You remove the chrome ones and then put those on.

Hmmm... I could of sworn I read somewhere on here that you can not take the chrome pieces off, that with those you have to replace the whole mirror.

Not sure if it works for the chrome but here you go:

1.) Tilt the mirror all the way up/down or sideways in order to get to each of the attaching clips. The clips are behind the glass and are integral to the caps.
2.) Locate the clips with a flashlight.
3.) Use a screwdriver to gently press the clips out of their retaining slots. (don't break the mirror glass!)

Yeah your chrome caps are removeable, just pop em off and replace them with the black ones once you get them. When we got our SS the only thing wrong was it was missing both of the black caps on the mirrors....so when they finally came in, they shipped whole new mirror assemblies instead of just the caps. So the idiots at the dealership instead of just popping off the caps and putting them on the mirrors on the car switched the whole mirror assemblies, meaning they had to take the door panels off. So of course doing that they screwed up BOTH door panels in the process having to completely replace one of them and they claimed they fixed the other one but its still broken and wont fit exactly how it used to before they removed it

i could go for the glossy black ones on mine, not a big fan of the chrome mirror caps. I don't love most of the chrome on my car, i like the grille (until i change it, it works, better then Satin) and i like the exhaust tip, but everything else...eh....

I'd really like body color handles and mirror caps, that would be good. My chrome came with the 2LT package and i would have been a lot happier if i could choose what i wanted.

Are you interested in gloss black ones? I have my set and I'll trade you at no cost.
