Black taillight mods.....

I seen a couple do it yourselfers on here with some black taillights, side markes and reflectors. i know that this is done by clear coat and a touch of black. Before i attemped this mod myself, i was wonderin if some generous people could post up some pics of what it looks like with turn signals, brake lights back up lights and etc an just to see if it alters the transperency too much and has the local law enforcement hassled anyone for having these. Also any kinda mixing ratio or formula would help too. thanks for the help.

Here is mine. I had mine done by a shop. Know your law. Michigan law only states that the light given off from the brake lights be red

Also remember, that in most states (if not all) the light emitted must be seen from as far as 500 ft.

You can do this easily by yourself with a can of VHT Nightshades. You can find this at local hotrod shops or on eBay. The cans are under $10 and can do every light on your car and still have some left over. All of the cars in our club use this method and have had NO problems with it as long as you only use a couple coats and not 7-10.

And side marker lights as far as 100 ft (At least in Michigan).

Thumbs up license plate frame...

Hey 'Hillsdale', I love your tails...also, I really like the look of that license plate frame. Did you get that from ebay? I have a chrome one from Chevymall.com, but I was thinking of getting a black one for the winter salt and saw a similar one on ebay. I like the lettering on that one and figure it must be similar to the one I am looking at.

If you look close, you'll notice the parking lights are on, at night you can't even tell they are painted.

This pic shows how dark they really are when off and when the sun is not shining on them.
