I've been thinking about this for a while and one day Moon showed up and I hit him with it. He said" what"? and I said "yeah, thats what I want to do, I want to gold leaf my bowties! So, here's what we did. First I masked off the area and Moon applied the " sizing" then in between bursts of wind he applied the gold. After looking at samples of leaf we chose a varigated style as it had a more dramatic effect. After he patted down the leaf he covered the area with a sealer and BINGO all done. I revealed them at the Half Moon bay show and to my surprise they blew everyone away! I think I'll keep them.

Is the back portion of the bow-tie still chrome or is it leafed also?

 

The chrome edge is still there and "silver leaf" is "white gold".
