Does anyone know where i can find a decent selection of different colored bowties for the hhr ss?

 

you scan skin your own bowtie right on the car with any color you can imagine. Just go to your local auto graphic place and they should be able to hook you up with some spare vinyl. Mine have been on for a year and a half now and still look good. PM me if you want some how-to instructions, it takes about 10 min each.

 

I thought of skinning it too and the only concern is how will it hold up to high pressure washes. And i was looking for a chrome skin but dont know how well of a shine it will maintain

 

chrome might cause some problems i haven't tried any of the vinyl like that.

mine has held up to high pressure washes, dirt, debris, stones, everything. The only part where it lifted in the corners of the bowtie was like that since I did it, and that is because i rushed the rear one, and I have been too lazy to redo it. Hardly noticeable though.

Looks like paint, but you can change colors, or whatever you want. Most mods I do I try to make them reversible. No idea why, it's just in my head that way. My reflectors are all tinted with window tint I can remove, sway bar comes off, vinyl bowties, led tails. Only thing permanent so far is the yellow calipers. After awhile I will probably just go over them with black though when I decide to do the drums.

 

I like reversability too mainly because i want the hhr to be as close to stock as possible when and if ever decide to trade it in........I also thought the chrome idea might b a bit "out there" but i dont know what else would look good with the blue metallic flash paint. I could do black but the whole grille is black. I want the bowtie to stand out and not look as if it is out of place.

 

Trade it in, Blasphemy! Especially a ultra rare blue flash metallic SS.
