Bowtie Grill and Hatch Decal

I found these vinyl bowties on ebay and put them on my car a few days ago. I expected that the vinyl would completetly cover the gold factory bowtie. But I should have looked closer at the picture on ebay, the sticker is just a bit smaller than the grill/hatch emblem leaving a gold outline around the blue. If you are directly in front/behind the car it appears mostly blue, very small outline, but if you see it at an angle you see the gold. I keep going back and forth between liking the gold outline and not. I know there's no shortage of opinions here....tell me what you think.

Looks much better on your car than it did on mine. I got same color and dealer put it on when they did running boards. Took one look at them and ripped them off. Maybe it was the color issue...but I didn't like mine. Yours look good though.

Personally I don't like the gold being visible. No offense meant but it looks like what it is, a decal that is too small, not something done by design. I prefer what CJ has done first. As a second choice I would paint them body colour.

But as with all mods, if you like, who cares what others think.

it doesnt look good at all. I tossed mine as well. Ended up painting the back emblem and it looks a hell of a lot better.

No offense taken. I wanted the decal to cover the entire emblem in the first place. Anyone have a source for a larger decal, that fits?

I don't really like the outline showing either. I'm looking for a black bowtie with the red outline, like the ones on my '98 Tahoe Sport package.

I almost bought those, but quite a few on the forum had bought them and did not like them. I instead went with this. It shows the gold, but it looks a lot better than it did before.

I just ordered black ones a couple of nights ago. I could tell in the photos that a little of the gold showed. I figured it would just give it a layered look. I'll be able to tell more about whether or not I like it after I get it installed and see it in person. Unless it looks really crappy, I figure it will be an improvement over the solid gold factory emblem.
