Bowtie replacement

I was on ebay and found replacement billet aluminum bowties for the HHR. Has anyone tried these before?

I don't know it only shows a front bow tie and only give one set of measurements, although the add states its for a pair. The bow-tie on the rear of the HHR is smaller and flat

Also if you super size it, it does not seem angle enough from the center out either perpendicularly or horizontally. Our front bow-tie bends in both directions.

I also wouldn't listen to them as far as using a small screwdriver to remove them Use fishing line

Also when you supersize that photo that certainly isn't "polished to a mirror finish"...... Note that the listing states it's "NOT an exact replacement". I wouldn't buy them.

After posting it, I did the same thing. I read the listing more closely and looked closer at the pics. He also sells an anodized black set, but if they aren't exact fits, then what is the point. Thanks for the input.

Contact Summit Racing, they can get them from Street Scene..

Like $40.- $45. a piece.

There is also at least one thread here on Billet Bow-ties for our rides.

That is what I am thinking of doing now that I have checked out that auction a little closer. Any paint suggestions for painting them black?

I ordered them in black from this supplier. I put them on a precision billet grille and the rear. They were ordered in a pair front and back. They both were the same as to the slight bend they had ? So I ended up banging the crap out of the front one to put more bend in it so it would contour the billet grille to stick properly and I had to bend the back one because their was too much bend from the supplier. As a result the paint was damaged and I ended sanding the paint off them and sprayed them with clear coat. The final result was a brushed aluminum finish which looked better than the stock black. I am happy with how it turned out, but it was a very frustrating experience. They should have had 2 different bends for the front and back, maybe they miss shipped the bowties.

My friend at the dealership had his guys there do my bowties. Assuming they used standard GM paint and clear. The raised part of the bowtie is black and the chrome bezel is still stock.
