UNIBROW!!! That's it..now I know what was troubling me about it.

I am afraid that it would take away from the look too. i am considering one of the clear ones though.

also am unsure about how the window vents will looks but I'm gonna go ahead with those. Got two sets, one for each of our HHR's.

I don't like the looks of it. I wonder what it would look like painted to match???

I do however like the functionality of it, and not for bugs either. I don't know about you, but bugs are the least of my worries, it's rocks that I can't stand!!!

Living up here in the north east, the salt and large stones in the sand can ruin your car in the winter months. Trouble is the spring , summer and fall aren't that great either. Lots of construction going on all over and lets not forget those huge pot holes that kick up stones. All those pot holes are left over from winter and with all the rain we had this year... Well anyway you get the picture. One week after I picked up my HHR I got a nice chip in my hood from a pot hole by "traffic going the opposite direction". I think I'm going to move South.

I like it, but not sure if I would like it on my Spring Edition. Does it also have rubber stops that you mount on the hood to keep it from scratching the hood?

No there are no stops of any kind. The only thing in the box is the deflector. After installation it is really as rigid as the grill. You have to take the grill off to install between grill and hood.. Only five nuts to remove the grill and reinstall. Plenty room to clean or wax in between the hood and deflector. I think the only part that would scratch would be underneath the hood and then only if it was able to move or vibrate.

I also think the color of your HHR comes into play in this case and in my opinion the Silverstone isn't to bad. I'll try it for a while and if it does not work.... It was easy on and even easier off.

I appreciate what you are saying about keeping your HHR for a long time. We traded in our Dodge Minivan that we had for 9 years (125,000 miles) and I plan on keeping the HHR for that time period also, so let me know how it works on a long trip. I am still debating between a bra and deflector. I know they provide different protection but I am still up in the air about how to handle it. Just keep me in the loop in terms of how it is working. Thanks

They do make two different types of bras. The small one and the full one that also covers the bumper. The only thing that I worry about with the deflector is that little space on both sides between the grill and headlight. I'll just have to see how this deflector works out. Although I never used a bra on any vehicle. If I change and go that route, it would be the full bra.
I'll keep updating.

We plan on keeping our HHR for many years also and I'm torn about putting one of the full coverage bras on it. I had one on an '86 Prelude "way back when" and I noticed it started messing up the paint underneath it somehow. Maybe it's just the heat and the Sun beating on it constantly here in Ariz. After a few Months I took it off before things got worse. I guess part of having a car is to live with the inevitable stone chips on the front, and the dings on the sides from morons in parking lots.

Yup, thats just what I was thinking. I guess there is no perfect solution.

Alzonie had problems with a bra. So I guess it means everything in life has trade offs.
A nice force field for the front would be perfect for protection, but probably reduce our mpg. I think a lot depends on location and driving conditions. I guess we'll just have to see what works best individually, based on conditions.
