I think it does interfere with the look of the front end, but they definitely keep the hood looking nice. How do you like the ventshades? I have the AVS set and I was disappointed that they did nothing for the wind, especially the draft near the top/rear of the window. I got them mainly for the rain and wiper runoff that every Chevy I've owned allows to douse the inside of the doors, but still I was expecting at least some improvement for wind.

The AVS version does come with the rubber stops btw.

It does interfere with the look, but keeping most of the hood looking nice is also important to me . I like the vent shades, I think they add to the look on the silver color. I bought mine so I can leave windows open and not worry about a quick rain shower when parked. I rarely drive with the widows wide open. To much pollen and dust. Its much easier to keep the interior clean.

What I really hate is the front license plate. But up here in CT its the law.

Hate to dredge up an old thread but these things may look all that classy but they sure as heck will protect your hood..I have had them on my last 2 cars and except for a few hits here and there they have kept the hoods looking very nice. I drive 100 miles a day almost all highway...I had a 2003 Focus ZX3 and did not have a deflector..after one winter the flipping hood looked like a sandblaster had hit it That wqs enough for me to invest in one.

I do admit if you were able to paint one the same color as your car it might look pretty good! I wonder how much that would run you?

Has anyone considered the clear 3M protection?

They look nice, I always had one on my new Dodge pickups, but in trying to maintain the retro look of a '49, I just don't remember seeing a lot of these on 1949 Chevy Suburbans.

However, protecting paint and windshield on your car, they do great. If you want on the same color as your car, you can always get vinyl and put ot on the backside of a clear shield. The color is the same on either side, and that way, the vinyl is protected by the shield, so it doesn't get roughed up. You can also have the vinyl 'mirror-cut' to have sayings or logos on them, so when you put them on the backside, the saying or logo will read right. You can also leave the entire vinyl, and only remove the logo, so you have a reverse view (all white, with Chevy bowtie clear).

By the way, I have a vinyl cutter and do cars, trucks, motorcycles, and planes as a hobby.

instead of color matching, why not just paint your HHR black to match?
