Would this keep crap off the windshield as well? Is it preferred over a front-end bra?

its not going to keep some parts of your front end from chipping. might ct donw on the bugs but i doubt it would go away

Adhesive tape install ... that kills it for me. This would provide a little protection for the leading edge of the hood, but isn't going to do anything for the fenders above the headlights.

I just think they are butt ugly! I couldn't bring myself to use one on My HHR. I'd suggest either a full bra or better yer a clear bra.

I've got a clear bra on my Mustang, came with it, and love it! I have one for my HHR just haven't taken the time to put it on.

Of course no bra will help keep bugs off the window much.
