Welcome aboard, RJ is correct, mine & many others are a vinyl decal in silver color.

Painted 3 Bar.

Vinyl overlay from over 11 years ago, but still looking good.

Is it better to cut the bars out with the grill installed on the hood or removed? I'm wondering if the hood would support it while cutting reducing the chances of breaking the whole thing.

Better out of the hood, less chance of damage to the sheet metal.

The "Gutter guard" also makes a great lower grille to keep big junk out...
