Cargo Mat... A Must?

Got groceries today, and damn did those bags slide all over on the plastic.

Does a cargo mat help? Would you consider it a must?

It should help w/ the sliding some, but your best bet would be the cargo net.

Mine came with one similar to this. Works very well on keeping things where they should be and the cargo net will help too.

I know the rubber mat in the panel holds the bags in place...........just the bags though, anything in them slides all over!

Just curious, tplyons.....

Didn't your car come with a carpet mat for the rear?? (as illustrated by ChevyMgr).

Nope. Bought used. Was a fleet car. I think the mat was deleted.

Seems you have a few ways to go. Carpet remnant cut cleanly, something 1 pc used when the seats are down would look great, or the factory one of course. Lots of options.

I just got another one from SoCal HHR'r SuburbanJr. ( Thanks John ). I use one for the bottom, raise the pkg shelf to the top position and then lay the 2nd one on that. Looks great and seems to quiet up the back.

I use the rubberized cargo mat set from a panel, in my non-panel HHR.

Bags, computers, bins....nothing I have put on it moves at all.
