Carriage Works billet grills

Has anyone installed one of their billet grills? They show and state cutting the top bar of the stock grill to re-use and I really like the looks of it better then without. I actually would like to use the whole outer frame of the stock grill and cut groves in the back side to fit the individual bars in/thru to help keep them straight all the way to the sides. Most of the pics I see of these grills show the sides not being evenly spaced out. This, to me, makes it look like poor fit and finish so I am thinking that the stock grills frame can help to prevent this issue plus add a unique look.

I bought a black billet bumper grill off ebay but have not installed it yet. I like the quality but the same vendor wants $777 for the upper grill and I am not willing to pay that. I will say that the bars on this lower one are PERFECTLY evenly spaced from one side to the other but even their own pics of an installed upper grill show uneven spacing at the edges.

Those of you who have installed a billet grill please feel free to post pics. I would be very interested in seeing how they really look on our cars.

I have this lower one but I cannot fathom spending nearly $800 on a grill.

I already found them for $200 or less hence the Carriage works one I am looking at. I am looking for close up pics of billet grills installed to see if they all look unevenly spaced. Do you have a close up of yours?

Thanks for pointing me in his direction. i found his thread about it. Now that I see it I am not sure i really like it. If I do go this route I will probably trim the top and bottom bars to a thinner size. Of coarse it may also look different being all black on my grey car vs the chrome that stands out so much on his black car. Lucky for me I should have some time to think about what I really want to do for the upper grill.

Yes that is true but I still want to see pics of the billet grills installed like I stated in my origional post. Basically for fit/finish comparison purposes. Seeing pics will really help since there are not many modded HHR's in my neck of the woods. I see atleast 10 HHR's every singel time I drive over 10 miles but most are bone stock.
