Chipped hood paint - Silver Ice Metallic

Has anybody had problems with chipped paint on their HHR? Mine only has 850 miles on it and has ONLY been driven on paved roads. But I've already got a half dozen small chips on the hood. Does GM have a problem with its silver metallic paint -- or am I just very unlucky?

If your sure they were not there when you bought it, then very unlucky.

I have tons of chips, noticed it the last time i washed. So pissed.

I've had mine 1 year, and they show up like crazy on the black...

Yeah, my '06 has a ton of small little stone chips, especially on the part to the right and left of the grille.... Not much you can do except getting a bra.

flames

a good excuse to paint some flames...mine is eat up...and windshield looks like it's been sandblasted......i think 3m makes a clear bra , i know they make 1 for the bumper....i don't care for bras , but i may get a clear 1 and/or some flames on the hood and the part of the fenders that get so much damage.....maybe some light colored "smoked" flames....but i got 85,000 miles mostly highway , so i guess it was expected to have a few chips.

no chips here

I should have many, many chips. I drive on a 6 lane highway that has been under contruction with overpasses for the past 8 years and proposed 6 more years to come. I had llumar invisible bra put on the front to include the headlamps and mirror heads. I also had a strip put on the top of the rear bumper cover. It is clearly the shizit! no stone chips or dents. It cost me $550. to get it installed but compared to the cost of a nose repaint without all heart aches and headaches it was one of the first things I did. You can't even tell it's on there. I would recommend it to anyone who has ever had a car in front of them.

Yea, I have 9k on my 08. Looks like i've had it already for 30K. I learn to live with it, even know it pisses me off when i wash/wax it. I just try to stay back alittle more then i did with my truck and stay away from Semi's.

That's all you can really do. as stated it has to do with the shape of the hood.
