I'm fairly certain the aftermarket interior handle replacements are also plastic, not sure if they are the same as factory or not. About 60 a piece.

I'm not sure how so many break their interior door handles as the one I now own was used to haul kids to sport activities and they got quite a bit of abuse and work just fine.

There are no full chrome door handles, only the covers or the GM OEM black chrome handles for the exterior. About 170 for all 4. They are chromed on about 70% of the handle and black on the part facing the body.

I have chrome headlight trim which I don't like now, I'll be replacing with aftermarket headlamp kit.

I have the chrome ABS plastic taillight trim, I love that look. Goes well with the real Stainless Steel rear license plate frame.

I have a high quality stainless gas door cover that looks great, actual real steel with very powerful 3M type adhesive.

My hhr came with the OEM chromes handles and mirrors so I'm not sure of the quality of the covers. If you give a crap about your hhr taking care of any chrome add-ons should not be an issue. But be careful how much you chrome out, it can make your hhr look trashy.

Some go the other route and either go all black or white, rims, light covers, emblems, ect. Both look horrible in my opinion but that's what it's all about, customizing it to the way you want it.

But to your original question, no, most chrome add-ons don't look cheap, too many may though.
Great info, Thanks as I also want to get the rear chrome rings as well,as for taking care of the HHR and any chrome ,I also ride motorcycles and I like my bike and chrome to shine :),Im what some may call a tad anal lol....... I also agree too much bling would make it too trashy and not my style, but trashy women well I may bend a bit on that issue :)

Changed it all

I changed all the parts to bright chrome. Grill, applique and door handles. Not aftermarket. I tried aftermarket door handles. They are made wrong, the aftermarket grill had a lot of imperfections. Bought all thru kinney cHevrolet, or Mckinney chevrolet on the internet The website does not come up right now but I will ad the webpage later.

I just got mine, it's red w chrome & I'm currently doing everything I can to replace all chrome parts...handles, mirrors, grille, interior handles.

Also if anyone has info on replacing the little section that houses te window switches, I'd like to see if they make something w more storage or w a lid
