Chrome changes for Holmes Hot Ride.

I am trying to come close to the 49 panel with the new Chrome additions. The only thing I am waiting on is the Chevy emblems, in Gold for the side hood.

That is very cool. Not something I would do to my HHR but I like it.

I want to keep it old school with a modern touch. It was a pain getting the chrome straight. It tried my patience. I can't wait to get the gold Chevy on the hood. I should have them by tommorow or monday.

Thanks, It realy looks good up close. The chrome is larger than it appears because it has a black strip in the middle.

Where did you get that kind of trim? Were they basically just in long strands and just cut them to fit? That does look very nice. Great job.

My first car was a 49 Fleetwood Chevy and I wanted to bring back the look of the 49 Chevy and other 50 cars. I went serching for something that reminded me of that era and I found a lot of chrome for that era but did not want to fork out $450 a set. So I went to Pep Boys and bought the side molding that was 5/8 molding. I cut each peace to fit with an exacto. Believe me when I tell you that the HHR is not plum and the measurments vary. Mainly because of the plastic panel and the mud flaps.

Looks really nice. Some larger pictures would be good to see some detail.

Also, what did you use for the chrome tail light rings?

I have been wanting to do that myself.

I was thinking about doing the same thing to my car. However its Silver. I guess it would be just adding more Chrome.
