a couple of questions...

we have had the hhr for a week now...(we call him julius...cause he is orange, and he is a he because its mainly for my wife ) anywho heres some more questions..

has anyone used the nerf bars? my wife found them online and since chevy quoted me almost 500 bucks for the runing boards im wondering if these are any good?
and while we mention running boards, is there an after market source?

lastly does anyone else have a problem with how low the back door opens? at 6'3 im just a bit big for this thing....

thanks!

No one here that I know of had used nerfs though I have seen a pic somewhere online, they didn't look bad. I don't think they'd do the same as the boards though.

The only aftermarket boards are part of a kit by a van conversion company, Southern Comfort. Don't know how they'd look without the rest of the kit. If you do a search here for "southern comfort" you'll find threads about the kit.

Someone with a daytona blue HHR has side pipes in chrome that look really nice. They offer some protection similar to the nerf bars. I'm sorry but I can't recall their name right now.

I read on another forum (I think it was another forum) a post from someone with nerf bars and they still had sandblasting.

At nearly 6'5 myself, I have learned to just back up a step when opening the rear door on any vehicle.

I'm 6'2" and I whack my head on the bloody liftgate all too often when I close it.

You'll get over it.

I'm 5'10 and I still hit my head on the tailgate...and nothing for nothing but watch your face on the upper corner of the doors...those things are nasty...don't ask how I know
