You mean THIS one? This one has photos of Markiemark's HHR with Coddington wheels and links and banter with Jeff from Truckshop.com.

If this isn't the thread you're talking about, let me know and I'll did deeper.

Or he could just look at the pic above which compare the smoothies to anohther set I'm looking at. (POST#18)

Both from truckshop. The lower pic is $175, smoothies run $320 .

And the winner is.......

$790 shipped from truckshop.com.

What clinched it was these are chrome, the smootie's are polished. Since this is for Bonnie's car the chrome will be a lot less maintenance.

Now to get them on for Peoria!!

I can't wait to see how those look! And you're right about the chrome vs polished wheels. I do not envy people who have polished wheels.

Too bad Cragar doesn't make the SS for the HHR. They are sweet wheels. They were the first aftermarket wheels I bought for the first vehicle I ever owned (S-10). They looked sweet!!! I tried to get them for my Dodge, but Cragar doesn't make them in a 22". I ended up getting KMC SS wheels for my truck and I thought they'd be perfect in an 18" for the HHR. But KMC doesn't make the SS for a FWD. I can't win.

KMC SS Wheel

Same problem I had finding these. Of course they were at the first place I looked, after realizing cragar's wouldn't work. no local shop had anything close in a 17" that would fit an HHR.

Now if I could only find 16" RWL tires I'd be a happy man!

Talked to Jeff today, nice guy-has helped me a couple of times, and he's the one who told me that the smoothie II's are polished, not chrome. That and the fact that I got these for $790 shipped clinched the deal.

Chrome=less work than polished!

$790<$1100

Real easy decision for me. I just don't think the smoothie's are $300 better looking and worth the extra work to keep them looking nice.

You'll get to see em up close and personal at Peoria!

At this rate, Bonnie's HHR is going to look nicer than mine!

I am really close to pulling the trigger on the Boyd wheels. The polishing doesn't bother me. I have had chrome wheels on cars and they are lower maintenance but they chip, peel and scratch over time. Good and bad points. The polished can really go bad if not kep after, but I am a cleaning freak, so that won't happen!

If ya like cleaning then pull that trigger!!

The smoothies are nice. I just have enough to do trying to keep all our cars washed much less polish all the wheels!

Either set look great IMO!!
