Depending on how good you are at sanding.....remove the dash, all or part of it, and sand it down with a da sander. Prime and paint! You could use a offset color or match your car, but either way if done right they look phenominal

i covered mine with tweed material looks really good. Can get it fairly inexpensive at www.yourautotrim.com , a little spray adhesive, I've found that the Locktight brand works the best but 3M makes a product called spray 90 that works well also. I just finished the dash so no pics yet but can get some if interested. Good luck

Yes, I wanted to do something that was alittle old school while at the sametime modern day (sounds hypocritical) For example, like stated before having the dash painted like the origional 3100 Chevy Pickups. Or putting fabric on the dash. Please post a pic when you get a chance, thanks for the responses

pics of dash covered in tweed, hope this helps.. hardest part was taking the air bag out, but with the technician's service manual instructions it was easier than planned to be.

That looks real nice, but how does the airbag function? I'm wanting to cover mine but I'm not sure how it will change the operation of the bag.

i covered the airbag seperately, so it will still function just like it did before, unlike other vehicles this airbag cover is designed to completely come away from the dash as a whole, it flips back towards the windshield and the airbag deploys out so the tweed covering it will not affect the function of the airbag

I saw a deployed HHR airbag and it opened on a line about an inch from the edge, so covering it would prevent the lid from separating properly? If the whole lid opens, that simplifies things a bunch.

i was just repeating what my husband has told me, even if the airbag cover doesn't flip forward, the pressure that is behind an airbag when it deploys will be more than enough to come through the tweed. I covered the airbag seperately and only about 1/4" was "tucked" or wrapped around the edge of the airbag cover
