Dash storage compartment

Hi
My 2010 SS doesn't have the bin/lid. In place of it is the RDP. Been looking for info, if it's possible, to install the storage bin.
Any help with this?
Thanks

You probably could,......... However; I understand SS won't run without the RDP installed and operational.

So if you want your car to sit in the garage and look pretty, go to it.

I found that if I jump out color for color on the plug it will run.
Want to know if I can install a bin in it's place.
Don't have a service manual to show me what I'm looking at.

A.) there are a lot of folks that would like to know how to operate their SS with the RDP removed. Some have broken, and disabled the vehicle since new ones are not available.

B.) going by my LT, there are 2 screws on the edge facing the passenger compartment, then the tray pops out with a few tabs. I don't think they would make an entire different dash board, but stranger things have happened.

Try this link, I also sent a PM. I will try to figure out how to post it.

OK now that I know how it comes a part I would like to move it to the A pillar like the Cobalt

It looks like an add on piece to the A pillar is from the factory.
Don't know what you would call the plastic box, so I don't know how to find the part number for it.
Making an extension of the OEM harness to the new location shouldn't be hard at all to do.

Go to any online GM parts site and just drill down the dashboard. One is gmpartsdirect.com, lots of others.

Just to clarify. It's called the RPD. Reconfigurable Performance Display. (not RDP)

Just went there and typed in dashboard and it can up blank.
Did find some P/N on a Cobalt sight
25860281-cover
25860279-bezel
15827871-molding
Tried to use them with GMPD and it gave me a price but no pictures
This looks like an easy thing to do, but pictures of the parts to order would be helpful

drill down

There are other sites.

In fact, I seem to remember it being in the "common parts" thread on this very forum. Might be wrong.
