Do spoiler keep back end clean

We just picked up our HHR yesterday and we live on a dirt road so I was wondering are the spoilers good for anything other than appearance. Will it help keep dirt and snow from collecting on the rear hatch?

I wouldn't think so, The spoilers that can be put on the HHR would be purely for looks. Mud-flaps on the rear might help a little bit.

Good luck. I have a black one and something that I have noticed on the HHR is that rear hatch gets dirty really easy. The rest of the car will look great, but the back will be bad. I think this is hatches in generally as my ZX3 does the same thing just not as bad.

The rear hatch ALWAYS gets dirty.

Sorry, there's no better answer than that.

I have to agree with all. I added the spoiler to mine and the only benefit has been extra coolness!

I like using the rear window washer so I can have streaks in my dirt and salt.

I had a stock spoiler put on as I like the looks personally. It helps only a tiny bit. It is a "look thingie." But I likes it mucho!

Best option is a Roll Pan (rear fender) ... if you can find anyone that'll make one for you (PTeazer marketed them... but never produced)!!
