I got my set from GDZHHR, but have to admit I'm a little leary about putting them on. I mean, how exactly are the stock ones attached? I know the instructions say to grab them with a wrench and twist them off, but I really don't want to end up snapping the post off.

You wont snap anything. The stock ones may not be useable anymore, but do you really want to keep them?

I'd also suggest just setting the new ones on the rod and trying them at that height before cutting the rods. I didn't cut the rides and I've been very happy. Others have cut the rods.

my posts were twisted and the knobs screwed off like a thread, just screwed the new ones tight and done... very easy, and I didn't cut mine

i just ordered mine for the SS, as well as the HHR SS shirt, looking forward to receiving them! now, the instructions say they aren't threaded, but others on here have posted that they are...is this something that has changed on newer models?
