I like the bezels... that really cleans it up.

Don't drive with your doors unlocked! That looks like it will draw blood! Seriously though, cool idea. That goes to show you there are plenty of things you can find at Wally, or the harware store that can be made to work.

I think so too. The door panels look plain, cheap, and unfinished with just a knob poking out of a hole drilled in the plastic. I actually prefer the plastic textured bezels to give it a more factory look, but those things are hard to find.

Got a link to those bezels? Did you have to pull the door panel to install?

Actually, I just got the bezels in the mail today, so I haven't installed them yet. I did check them out, and they should work, but the shaft on them is too long, and will need to be cut down. If you use a sharp razor knife to enlarge the holes, you can probably get away with just twisting the lock knobs off. However, if you want perfect holes (which won't be seen), you will have to take the panel off and drill the hole out bigger. I will probably install some rubber washers underneath them, so they will conform to the contours perfectly (these are flat on the bottom, but the HHR door panels are slightly curved).

These are made for the 1994-04 Mustangs, and they are kinda pricey, even on Ebay, but you might be able to find some factory plastic ones at a junk yard pretty cheap. I think the bezels for the 1979-93 Mustangs will also work, and not need cut down, but I'm not sure how they would look in the HHR.

Here's a link to UPR's website:
