door panel strips and paint recs?

can anybody give me any insight into how to remove the dark colored strip on the door panels? Do they pop off or does the entire panel have to be dissassembled? Im trying to do some painting, but if its too much of an issue, I'll do a tight tape job.

also, anybody have a trusted brand of paint that they'd recommend to match the daytona blue?

The strip doesn't come off. So either tape on the door or remove and tape. I've had good luck with Duplicolor but not blue.

Hope this helps.

This question can only be answered by someone who has actually taken the door panel off, not by some wannabe HHR owner!

Yo Crowbar! Nice of you to drop by for a visit. Nope, things have not changed here one bit. Well, a little bit. Lots of new owners and new members. And we still run a babysitting service for 06 and his Big Wheel! Great to see you are still around!

I didn't even try to take mine off just sanded, cleaned well, taped and covered everything else with plastic. I had very good luck, and hope that you will too...
