Exhaust Tip

I didn't get a response to the last question on my first post , so I'm starting a new thread. I saw an Autotecnica Chevy HHR "Blue" LED Adjustable Machine Gun Exhaust Tip on http://www.autotrucktoys.com/chevy_h...-P12736C0.aspx I was wondering if anyone else has installed this, and what do you think? I know I'm a little "old" to be thinking about "pimping my ride", but I'm young at heart

I like neons and LEDs if done right but I don't like LED exhaust tips.

James you're only too old when you're dead, do what makes you smile, I am starting to buy small neon additions and have my underglow kit ready to go on. The best thing is that the mod that you are considering isn't permanent, if you decide that you don't like it, just take it off and resell it...

I would venture to guess that you received no response could possibly be because either no one has done it...or they have not had time to respond to that particular part of your post. I cruise these boards alot, and to date don't remember anyone mentioning adding one of these, but I could be wrong. Good luck in your quest for an answer.

I'm sure you already know this, but make sure you get stainless steel and not chrome to prevent rust.

I'm new to all this and got a chrome exhaust tip on my IMCO muffler and ended up having to replace it in less than 1,000 miles.

I don't know if I do either, but the stock exhaust looks drab. I'd like to do something a little different. Any suggestions, pictures, etc. would be helpful.

Old Chrome Tip - JUNK

New Stainless Steel Tip - NOT JUNK

Got both of these from Mighty Muffler...about 6 weeks or so apart. Bought new one at a different shop that had better selection and it was only about $20 more than the JUNK one.
This one is flared, which doesn't show in this picture. I'll take a better picture tomorrow when it's not raining.

Someone else on here has a tip that has dual tailpipes. Don't remember who it is though. CH...help me out here bud.

Speaking of which, crowbar... what tip is that?

James06... if the LED tip caught your interest- install it. As for other ideas... just be sure to get something 'quality' (i.e. STAINLESS, or STAINLESS AND CHROME). Googling 'exhaust tips' or 'stainless exhaust tips' or the like should net some good results. BTW- IMCO (the muffler individuals have been using a lot here) also sells a wide assortment of tips. Nothing as wild as your considering, but different sizes (inlet/outlet)... who know's- something may catch your interest.

Impatient

Deb, I guess I'm just a little impatient today. Thanks for the response. I think I like the stainless exhaust tip. Now my next question - how do I get the picture to show in my signature?

To add a picture to your signature, you must have it uploaded either to the gallery here or somewhere like photobucket. Then follow these instructions
1. Make sure the picture is within the 500 X 100 guidelines for signature.
2. Go to UserCP at top and then click on edit signature.
3. Click on yellow icon that has mountains and paste the url for your photo in the pop up box that appears there and click ok.
4. Click preview signature to make sure it's what you want.
5. When you are satisfied, click save signature and it is there.
