The lights on the mirror are not advantageous for reading maps, etc. Anyone have an inexpensive solution to add an interior dome light adjacent to the little LED that shines down onto the console? All the 'puck lights' I've found are too big.

 

Ive trying to find some dome lights from a 09+ HHR. They have 3 sets(or at least the one I saw did), front middle and the back like earlier years. All you would have to do is tap into the original dome light system.

 

my 08 has 3 sets in it, which I did the dome-spin on for more up front lighting..

 

Really I thought only the 09+ did. That sucks since mines an 08 I have just the one rear one and then the mirror lights.

 

Thats all I have on my 08 to thats really wierd and makes no sense

 

My'new to me' 2008 HHR has the same problem. The mirror lights, near useless for map reading, and 1 rear dome light divided into three sections. One click for eack rear passenger and a cargo light that ciomes on via switch/door. I work in a hardware store and well sell various tap lights and a under shelf 3 in 1 LED step that I am going to give a try. Other ideas?

Maybe it was a 2LT thingie ? I don't know ? but it's there, & I spun it around for more light up front & works fine with the LED bulbs in it..

For more light in cargo area, I just push on either of the 2 other lights..

But also sounds like redbaron has the same light too..(just not spun around)..

 

I don't have it either and mine is '08 panel 2LT. It may be that I have a sunroof in mine.

 

No sunroof here..

 

Yeah, mine has a sunroof too.
still looking for a viable solution.
