i must be on the other side of the opinion, i don't really like the SS plastered on the front at all. i like it low key.
It's cool because it's an SS but i don't think it needs to say it more then they already put on the car (if that at all they look great debadged as well)
plus putting the SS inside the bowtie would go against the chevy corporate standards. I've done work with a few of these kinds of things before (used to do a lot of design work for Volkswagen of America) and actually know the people who put together all of the graphic standards for chevy since everyone was using the brand all willy nilly and they wanted to get it back to being uniform all around.

i agree with you that it shouldnt be in the bowtie it shouldnt have a bowtie on the grill at. all the base models had a bowtie the ss had ss plus theres nothing meaner than seeing those two SS in your rear view mirror coming up your a**
