I had thought about black vinyl underneath too but after looking at it for awhile didn't mind the extra slit of light on both sides.

 

They do look nice. Any difference in visibility at night?

 

None that I have noticed.

 

Overall they look good. I have been thinking of getting a set sometime.

I wasn't too sure about them when I first saw them for sale. But in that last pic especially, they look great!

 

I think I should get a kickback for inventing these covers in the first place. One of my original HHR photochops!!! JK.....

 

How was the install? Did you have to do any carving or bending to get them to fit correctly? That is one of the mods that I have considered for mine. It looks good, but I don't know if I would like the extra bit of light bleeding through like in the second photo.

 

They are shaped to fit and go on with just double sided 3M tape.
