Lightbulb HELP!!! Need Some Insight Please

I just recently purchased splash guards for Smoke. They are the contoured type and not the molded type like the ones sold at gmparts direct.

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/part_images/17801080.jpg

My question is...has anyone bought these and installed them themselves? Is there some tips you can offer or a picture of final install that I can look at? It doesn't look like they just bolt right on and my boyfriend is making me nuts. However, I do have two options to that problem

1. Tie him up and put a gag in his mouth
2. Wait until tomorrow and do them myself after work in our facilities garage.

Seriously though, any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!!!

I'm not sure where I got my guards from but... I suggest a very small barrier between the guard and any painted surface. I noticed with mine that even though their mounted securely, vibrations have caused rub marks on the paint.

Is the Chevy emblem actually backwards on the right side? That would be enough for me to return them and get the HHR flaps.

Deb, I have the same flaps. Luckily my dealer installed them gratis while my HHR was in for some body work. This I know: they had to cut the flaps to fit. They made oversized slots of a sort. They then attached with a few screws. One of the screws in each of the fronts is the screw that goes through the fenderwell into the running board. Hope this helps. If not, speak up and I will try to get a few pics for you.

No...the picture above is the one that's at gmpartsdirect.com

I'm just looking to see how they look on the HHR in a photo that's actually large enough to see. I've done some searching here but didn't find anything that shows them up close.

Here's one I just took of mine out of the package. Not sure why they have different tabs either.

Not sure about the install, but I would go in order, Number 1, then 2

Deb, I got that set originally, installed the rears. It was a bit of a pain in the you know what to get them on, lots of trimming and drilling involved. Got them too low, they dragged on a lot of things, and didn't fit real well. Gave up and bought the moulded set. Took 15 minutes to install all 4, and they fit much better. For my 2 cents, I'd send them back (or put'em on fleaBay) and spend the extra for the moulded. You'll be much happier with them.
