HHR on 18's the ride...

Like I said in a previous post im getting my HHR tuesday and then the fun begins with making it my own.

One question I have is how it handles 18" rims. Ive been in friends suv's and cars. where rims made the ride of the car very rough. so I was curious what you guys thought of the ride of your HHR's after you put rims on. thank you for any input you guys have.

I recently put 18" SS wheels/tires on my LT. The ride feels a little firmer (rougher) than the original 16"s but not that much stiffer. I also installed Cobalt SS springs and it still rides great!

The wheels made little difference to me. After I lowered it it rode a little rough but nothing the wife complains about. Usually she won't ride in my cars, after I cut the coils or remove a few leafs. This thing rides like a Cadillac compared to some of them!! Haha!

You'll feel the road a little more, but it's not bad at all.

Your car is real similar to what i want to do, black on black do you mind me asking what the price for your rims and tires was?

Chad is selling his for like 900.

Which is the price will cost you to get 18's and the cheapest good tires. About 120 each tire for the cheap set.

Im putting 18's on my hhr with in a month. (I got the rims but got to save fore tires now)

See I don't mind if its a stiffer ride. I drove a truck that throw me all over the place. So I like that it would ride a little stiffer. IMO it lets me get the raw feel of the road. Much better for racing
