HHR Plus HRT Classic Trailer

I love the way the tail lights match the HHR and the fact that those behind can see all the taillights together. Can you see the trailer when backing up? What does it weigh and how much weight can you put in it? Are the wheels and tires the same size as the HHR? If so, you got a full size spare there and you can take that little one out of your trunk. That will give you more storage space inside!
Its a bit tough to see it when backing up, but I'm tall ( 6'6") so I can stretch up and look over my shoulder. Depending on where/what web site I've read, the trailer weighs between 225-250 lbs. I can pick both wheels off the ground when lifting from the rear, so Im leaning to the 225 number. as for cargo wt, again it varies by web page 250-300lbs. which is A LOT of suitcase, if your suitcase & shoes weigh THAT much, I'm not carrying it, let alone towing it...lol
the rims on the trailer are 14's, as is the spare for the trailer (for now) As I stated in an earlier post, better half has to get over some sticker shock first..lol
By the way....the HHR is HER car, but we use it for weekend runs to the lake rather then our full sized Ford van. With out the trailer, we were getting 29-31mpg highway, van gets 15mpg on a good day with a 40mph tailwind. Will find out this week what the trailer does to the HHR mpg.

are so small. If the tongue were any shorter, you'd NEVER be able to see
the trailer out the back window. As it is now you can JUST see the top
few inches when rolling down the road.
Plate requirements vary by state. here in Wisconsin, trailers under 4500lb
dont require a plate, but if you did need one, the trailer comes with
a bracket that you can mount just about anywhere you want, or have the
manufact install it b4 it gets to you.
The trailer is designed for Trykes & Small passenger cars, not for cycles.
We took it on vacation this past week, it towed like a dream.
I had to remind myself I had a trailer on behind.
MPG took a hit, went from 29-31 to 27-29, BUT part of that could
have been traffic & heat.
Did 'some' of the modding I had/have planned this week, a few things are
on back order.

Thanks for all the positive responses! If you have dogs &/or kids
and want to travel, this trailer is the ticket!
( NO! I dont work for or get a cut from the manufact'...lol )

As Promised...here are some new
Photos Ive done some slight 'modding'
I.E. More Chrome Trim, BowTie, Reflectors,
Cargo Light & Interior Carpet to match HHR Interior (not pictured)
Ordered the HHR & LT emblems from dealer and cherry
picked the HRT from them to put on trailer.
The Trailer pulls like a dream when loaded, a bit
"bouncy" when empty, but over all we LOVE it !!
