Question Home made custom grill questions???

I am wanting to finally make a custom grill for my HHR. I've seen a ton of different ones on this forum. I want to do the 3 bar deal but I would like the meshed part to be chrome. So is there a place to get some perforated metal already chromed, or maybe made out of aluminum that I could polish myself or something? I don't really have the energy or desire to take something to a place to get chromed and all that (to lazy and to cheap). Thanks for any help. Oh and if you have already done this could you please post a complimentary pic? Thanks again.

Try here:

http://www.customcargrills.com/

Street Scene supposedly makes grill inserts for our HHRs, although S.S. doesn't show any pics on their site & any S.S. dealers can't produce a pic either. Have never seen any on this site either

Lol! Yes I am cheap (or thrifty) but those custom grill sheets are kind of what I'm looking for. The aluminum perforated stuff looks like it might do. I wish I could get that stuff that you see on those StreetScene grills. It's kind of a diamond shaped perforation (not woven).

ive seen alot of custom stuff from the young tuner groups around the local car circut..ive seen chrome door knobs from cabinets meshed with the gutter guard you buy at a local hardware store..painted up..looked pretty good..was on a honda or neon or sumthin..not sumthin id do personally but hey..wanna cheap out..cut up and old stop sign..sand off the paint and polish for a day or so(good aluminum)shines nice with a bit of elbo grease..a good buffer will do the trick...1/8 drill rod/stainless..pretty cheap stuff..go to your local steel supply shop/welders shop can order it for ya too..make nice billet syle grille out of that...piece of 1?8 by 2.5 inch sounds like what you want..check the srap bins at local industrial shops that make machinery..you should be able to find what your lookin for...good luck..watch for dogs...

Well I called Street Scene and they say it isn't even finished being developed yet. They also could not describe to me what it looked like? He did say it is a whole grill. For $116 it's a steal at Summit Racing!!! I kind of want to just pay Summit now and wait until they get it done cause the Street Scene people said it was supposed to retail for around $250. I really like all the Street Scene grills, they look really cool with diamond mesh they use. Hmmm dunno what to do just yet? So far I really haven't seen an HHR grill I like except for some of these 3 bar home made ones.
