How much do seats cost?

I am looking to exchange those stain-loving grey fabric in for different seats. An auto-wrecker has a very nice pair from a 2008, black leather, say they will sell for $500 for the full set.

So, did I just find a good deal or is that rather average? High?

I don't have a reference point, but that doesn't sound to bad if they are in excellent condition.

I'd say that if you were closer to here you should pass them up so I could buy them.
Sounds like a great price if they're in mint shape and even a good price if they're just average.

As long as they weren't underwater (flooding), sounds good on price.

Is the Drivers seat electric powered ?

If all goes well, later you can ebay, or list in the classifieds here the cloth seats you now have to recoup a few bucks...Offset the cost of the up-grade..

considering a set of Katskins will run ya 800 or so..leather for 500 sounds like a deal..just make sure you test them first if they are electric and if at a wreckers..watch for mice..bees..etc..if the inside of car was left open due to busted windows or sumthin..good luck!!

$500 for the full set of leather seats is a VERY good price. Just make sure you look them over well and if they're indeed in very good shape, get them!

HHR leather seat characteristics

The leather seats for the HHR came from the factory, I believe, as additional option for the 2LT. 2LT ALWAYS comes with a power driver's seat. Furthermore, all leather seats from the factory were sold with seat heaters. In other words, 2LT always comes with power seats. Leather seats always come with heaters. So, you should actually be purchasing heated leather seats with a power driver's seat. I think that leather seats couldn't even be ordered for any trim level below 2LT. I'm absolutely sure that they were never offered with the SS. You might try to acquire the in-dash heater controls and wiring from the junked HHR in addition to the seats themselves, and see if you can recreate the entire factory setup.

Would you need to have the dealer flash the BCM to activate the new power accessories?

My local Auto Salvage shop quoted me $225 for the driver side with electric. He didnt specify if they were leather or not.

I made the drive and picked up the full set for $500, the entire set is in excellent condition. A little bit of wear -probably from hair sprays, etc- on the driver head rest but not much.

I was already 2 hours away and at my brothers place when I realised that yes, it is a heated set-up. Never even considered it.

The entire car that was at the wrecker was a burnt orange 2LT, almost everything inside was good just the front end was totalled off. I was going to take the black carpet but I noticed some bad snags in it unfortunately so wasn't worth it.

No buyers remorse at all, gave it warm damp cloth over it to remove the dirt that got on it, looks very impressive for a used set.... and will be looking into getting the heated seat option hooked up before Winter hits!
