My opinion: It is a stoopid oversight. I know someone very well who called GM and filed a product report....cough cough. The rotary knob that dims the instrument panel would have been the obvious place to put it, like many other GM vehicles. The knob even has a detent like it SHOULD have turned on the dome lights. This is a great vehicle, in my opinion, but they sure blew it on this detail.

The 07 definitely lets you turn the interior lamps on. I got into the car today and must have brushed my hand against it because the interior light stayed on and I went and checked all the doors and hatch. But no warning lights or buzzers that a door was open, just the interior light on. Then noticed that the dimmer switch was rolled all the way over. Rolled it back a notch and the light went out.
