Mudflaps

In an effort to maybe delay further rust, I purchased a set of OEM Chevy mudflaps for my HHR.$85.00 for four. They arrived today and I am underwhelmed. The set I purchased for my wife's Forester, at about the same cost, consisted of four substantial pieces of plastic, with clear concise instructions. They fit like a glove. The set I got for the HHR today is nothing like as substantial. Worse, the instructions for installation are pathetic. You are, believe it or not, supposed to remove the road wheel and back out the fender liner installation screws (where the mudflap goes) about 1-2 turns. Then you place the new mudflap in what you think is the best position, over the screws, and whack the mudflap with a screwdriver handle until the screwhead leaves an impression on the mudflap, then, you back out the screws the rest of the way, drill the mudflap where you have dented it with the screwheads, and attach it using longer screws included with the mudflaps. Are you kidding me?

Mine came predrilled... Embossed "HHR" is only on the rear flaps.

Well then. Sounds like I was baited and switched. Mine are misidentified. They were advertised as "OEM" in the eBay ad and there is a white bowtie on the bottom, exposed part.

Same as mine wrapped in GM packaging. I could have done w/out the embossed HHR on rears only, but at least it is black & not very noticeable.
