I got them off ebay. I did some research and knew everything I had to buy, luckily I got it in one purchase for a decent price.

Your "How To" REALLY helped. After I installed the light the next day I had to take one out and re adjust it, I was able to in about 1.5 hours, start to finish. Thanks again.

This is one Mod i wish this was a option on the HHR. It would make a world of Differance in looks and light output.

Serioulsy i don't understand why Automakers still don't even offer HID's as a option for 90% of there Model's.

Parts alone cost over $400. Now, factor in labor...Just sayin'

You might be able to do it yourself. I can offer some help if needed.

So did you have to remove the lens from the housing?? And if yes did yo put it into a stove to heat up the seal? I can get a hold of projectors for free so what would the other costs be (amount)? Really need to see pics of the front and back of the headlight so I can get an idea.

I work at a used part auto retalier place and my job is takeing apart all kinds of different late model headlights and fixing them. (clean them and keep from leaking, fix housing, fix inners, swap lens, ect. ect.) I throw projectors away every day from BMWs, Benz, ect. ect. We then sand the headlights and then respray the the clear coat. (actually one of the bosses owns the patent to sanding and respraying of headlights)

HHR headlights have a really sucky seal and it is hard to not damage the housing, but I know my boss would give me killer deals on new lights and the ballest/mods. So if someone would who has done this could post after pics of the light? please? I have never turned a non-hid into a hid.

Ya but it can be done. A coworker today tried an hhr that he needed to fix and destroyed the housing. You just have to be careful and take your time. The Caddy DTS uses the same stuff to seal and I have taken 3-4 of those apart in the last couple of days. the suck and take alot of time.

I did heat the lights in order to take off the lens. I had to re-heat multiple times. It is a slow and tedious process. but take your time and you will be much happier with the results.

I would suggest putting the light on a cookie tray with a wet towel underneath to protect the plastic.

At work we have only the lowest rack in the ovens (3 total) and set them in at 300 degrees. We then have metal (like a cookie sheet) on the rack w/ wood blocks to hold the light off of the tray. A light like the hhr will have be put in for 15-17 minutes (recommend 15) to not melt the lens or tabs or anything and will have to be done probably 3-4 times
