Thumbs up New mod on Bob-"old school" dash traffic light prism.

This works so much better that the other! Just took me a while to get up the nerve to drill a hole in the dash.

Not in the line of site at all when driving and picks up the signal better than anything else I've seen! Plus it just looks cool as hell on the dash!

Kinda looks like a snow globe sitting on the dash.

Is it going to be found in your store?

I have been looking at these for a while and here is my concern. The cars these were originally designed for were mostly metal. The dash and most things around the dash were all metal. These are basically a prisim / magnifying glass.

What are the chances of the sun hitting it at just the right angle to toast/melt something on the mostly plastic interior of the HHR? Don't get me wrong, I like these and think it would be great to have but, what if you came out some sunny day and there was a hole or worse in your dash or seat? This has kept me from getting one so far.

Any thoughts?

The thing is, these are not magnifying glass which focuses light to a point. It is a prism which refracts light, not focuses it. I think that any chance of the situation you are concerned about happening would be very slim.

I won't say that it can't happen becuase I don't remember much from my physics class. But, it what you say is plausable and if it would create enough heat to melt a dash, wouldn't that still be enough to cause damage to a metal based dash?

They do work very well and like you said look COOl. All we need now is wonder bar radio
