New Splash Guards- found at Chevy,,, amazed me

I went to eat lunch w my sales guy Mike today and when i was there i found out 2 things at the parts dept
1. i can get a chrome SSR front grille top bar- it was on a blue SSR. man it was awesome and wish i had a pic. so this is a special chrome grille on it and it was killer
2. found some mud flaps or splash guards and only $14.99 which kind of shocked me- Part# 12497439. they came w all kinds of mounting screws. nuts and fender locks to hold them down. i put the 2 on back and now 2 on front

put on these mud flaps today and got rid of the HHR ones. They wrap around the edge and it gets dirt in there and it is scratching the paint. I had to really rub the paint to get off the marks.

so i bought them and had to do some adjustments to make them fit and here are the pics

HUGE difference in coverage there CJ! Good job.

Boy - you should make a cutting template for those - I'm betting more than a few will want to do the swap. Having a template you could mail out would be a BIG help!

Keep them mod's a comin'

i used a utility knife to cut them out.
made kind of a v in the flap just big enough to give me a little moving side to side room
then just kept putting them up there till i go all the notches cut.

it took about an hour counting the jacking the frame up and taking off the back tire

i put frame lock clips behind the 2 screws that had none to make them hold really tight
the guards came with lots of ways to hold them down

i added a before pic to really see the difference

It's about time to ditch that stock rear bumper protector for a nice custom carbon fiber style model! (one more mod!)

Got it in Chrome?

I bought something similar.....possibly the same. The dealer is going to install them while my baby is in the body shop. This is where I found mine....

they are 2.5 to 3 inches longer than the HHR's.

I noticed a difference after installing, (well, Mr. Bumpstops installed them) the mud flaps in regards to debris up on the fenders. With running boards and mud flappies, there seems to be next to nuttin' now!

that big gap between the fender wells just looked like a problem.
