Nice Retro Cali Plate

Reminds me of my dad's '63 VW Bug plate...wish I could have the old black n yellow. Any idea how he got it?

I wouldnt see why not....as long as its legible. They have so many different colors to choose from any way.

Yeh, but from their homepage:

"The State of California allows you to register License Plates on your vehicle from 1905 to 1962 as long as the year of registration for the vehicle and the year of the plates match."

Hmmmm, think they would buy that it's a '49 burban?

Anyone have anything definite on if it is legal to paint your plate?

I think painting your plate is illegal in every state.
