no its not smooth,the inner support for the door is gaudy and square and the wiper and rear hatch release brackets are there

The wiper motor is mounted in the center below the glass. My whole interior is out right now, I will take a picture tonight.

Minus the sound deadener sheets in my opinion it is a smooth surface, however there are some holes there. Some will be noticable in the picture where I cut away the deadening material. I hope this helps.

why did you cut away some of the sound deadening material for?

The plastic gate cover has little plastic pegs that insert into the holes.
